Amirabdollahian: Growth of ISIS, Takfiri groups in Afghanistan dangerous
Iran’s foreign minister in a meeting with Secretary-General for Foreign Affairs in the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of Austria condemned the terrorists’ acts in Afghanistan in recent weeks, saying that the growth of ISIS and other Takfiri groups in that country is very dangerous.

Tehran, SAEDNEWS: Peter Launsky-Tieffentha, Secretary-General for Foreign Affairs in the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of Austria who has arrived in Tehran to participate in the 5th Round of Iran-Austria Political Talks, had a meeting and discussion with Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian.

Amirabdollahian said that Iran-Austria relations date back to remote past in history, adding, "We attach great importance to these relations."

The Iranian foreign minister expressed hope for further development of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, appreciating the Vienna government for forwarding a batch of coronavirus vaccines to Iran and asked for broader mutual cooperation in campaign against the coronavirus pandemic.

He also asked for a more responsible reaction of the EU in dealing with the homeless Afghan refugees, condemning the recent weeks' terrorist acts there and considering the growth of the ISIS and Takfiri groups there as quite dangerous.

Launsky-Tieffentha, for his part, expressed delight over the friendly relations between his country and Iran, and expressed hope that the nuclear negotiations will resume as soon as possible in Vienna in the presence of all JCPOA sides.

He, meanwhile, condemned the recent weeks’ terrorist acts in Afghanistan, adding that the Islamic Republic of Iran and Austria have shared worries about the ISIS and Takfiri groups.

The Austrian diplomat, meanwhile, voiced his country's support for the meeting of Afghanistan's neighbors aimed at resolving that country’s problems (Source: IRNA).
