Boeing Is Delivered an Ultimatum by Islamic Republic of Iran over the Suspended Contract
Head of Iran Civil Aviation Organization Touraj Dehqani Zanganeh said on Tuesday that the country has given the global aviation giant, Boeing, an ultimatum on the contract whose implementation was suspended after the US reimposed sanctions against Tehran.

Tehran, SAEDNEWS, Feb. 3: “The contracts with the Airbus and ATR have been suspended but regarding the status of the Iran Air’s contract with Boeing, it was announced in a letter to the company that the contract’s situation should be clarified as soon as possible,” Dehqani Zanganeh said.

He, meantime, said that suspended passenger planes contracts will likely be reactivated after the removal of sanctions.

Dehqani Zanganeh also said that 8 new planes have joined Iran’s civil aviation fleet, and added that nearly double the number is waiting to enter the country.

Former Iranian Deputy Road Minister Ali Abedzadeh announced in June 2016 that the country had signed a deal with Boeing on purchasing 100 planes from the US manufacturer.

"The two sides reached a written agreement to purchase 100 planes," Abedzadeh said.

He said that the written agreement was made after representatives of Iran and Boeing company held several rounds of talks, adding that the planes will be provided to Tehran through a financing deal.

Also, former Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi disclosed that the country has reached an agreement with global aviation giant Boeing.

"We have reached a deal with the global aviation giant Boeing over the purchase of new planes that could set a new milestone in the country’s efforts to revamp its aging air fleet," Akhoundi said (Source: Fars News).
