FM spox urges Washington to decide on remaining topics in Vienna Talks
Iranian foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said many of the tables and columns in Vienna talks have been prepared and some of the parentheses have been removed, adding that Washington should make its decision on the important and political issues.

Tehran, SAEDNEWS: Speaking in his weekly press conference on Monday, Khatibzadeh said if the aforementioned happen, the negotiations will move toward a good agreement. In response to a question regarding Syrian national sovereignty, he said that it should be respected by all countries.

Iran has a mechanism in Syrian based on which all disputes will be resolved, he added.

Touching upon President Ebrahim Raisi's upcoming visit to Russia, he said that the trip will be of great importance and in line with government’s balanced foreign policy.

He noted that President Raisi will confer with his Russian counterpart on political, economic, and social topics.

Regarding US secretary of state’s remarks on Vienna Talks, Khatibzadeh advised him to adopt their initiative to materialize the plan A which is at hand.

He went on to say that plan B will be attractive for no country.

Reacting to some US officials’ fabricated deadlines, he said that the US president, foreign policy team, and their negotiators are well aware of the fact that thanks to Iran’s efforts the JCPOA is now alive.

Regarding the occupation of a part of the Syrian soil by Turkey, Khatibzadeh said all countries should respect sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria.

He also referred to Astana mechanism between Iran, Russia, and Turkey in which bilateral and multilateral consultations were held.

Referring to implementation of Iran-China 25-year agreement, he said it is based on creating a cooperation roadmap aiming to promote relations to strategic partnership level.

Commenting on Iran-Saudi Arabia negotiations, he pointed to start of Iranian diplomatic mission in Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah.

As president Raisi earlier said Iran was ready to open its embassy in Saudi Arabia and it depends on Riyadh to take practical measures.

With regard to Iran's regional arrangements, Khatibzadeh referred to neighborliness as Iranian government’s policy.

He pointed to Iranian foreign minister’s tours to the Persian Gulf states, phone calls, and the regional states' officials visit to Iran.

He went on to say that respecting national sovereignty, preventing interference, non-aggression, and recognizing the red lines were among issues discussed with the regional states (Source: IRNA).
