Hezbollah scoffs at allegations of 'its involvement in Yemen'
The Lebanese resistance movement of Hezbollah has brushed off Saudi allegations of its "involvement" in Yemen.

In a brief statement on Monday, the movement described the "so-called evidence of Hezbollah's role in Yemen" as "insignificant and ridiculous." The allegations "do not warrant a response," the movement added.

A day earlier, the Saudi-led coalition, which has been attacking Yemen since 2015, claimed that Hezbollah was involved in efforts aimed at "militarizing" the airport that lies in the Yemeni capital Sana'a.

The airport, the coalition added, was being turned into the "main center for launching ballistic missiles and drones" towards the Saudi kingdom.

The allegations came as the coalition has intensified its attacks against the Yemeni capital.

Most recently, the Saudi bombing resulted in three deaths in the Yemeni town of Ajama, which is located northwest of Sana'a, on Saturday.

Leading several of its allies, the kingdom launched a war against the Arab world’s already poorest nation in March 2015. The war has been seeking to restore power in Yemen to the country’s former Riyadh-allied officials.

Last month, a United Nations Development Programme report said the war would have claimed 377,000 lives by the end of this year through both direct and indirect impacts (Source: PRESSTV).
