Imam Reza Hospital is one of the biggest hospitals in Mashhad. Founded in 1934 under the name of Shah Reza hospital, it is also one of the oldest hospitals in Mashhad. After the Islamic revolution in 1979, it was renamed to Imam Reza hospital in honor of the 8th Shia Imam.

Boasting more than 1200 beds, Imam Reza Hospital is categorized as a first-class general hospital in Iran, being also utilized as a medical research center. The hospital has various wards and specialty clinics.
