Iranian parliament endorses President Raisi's cabinet
Members of the Iranian parliament ended examining qualification of proposed ministers by President Ebrahim Raisi for different ministries on Wednesday, and all of the ministers except the choice for ministry of education gained vote of confidence from the parliament.

Tehran, SAEDNEWS: Hossein Baghgoli, President Raisi's choice for the ministry of education was not given the vote of confidence by the Iranian lawmakers.

However, all other proposed ministers received the Iranian Parliament's vote of confidence.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi submitted the names of new Cabinet members to the Parliament on Wednesday.

The list of ministers who received the vote of confidence is as follows:

Hamidreza Sajjadi for Ministry of Sport and Youth,

Ahmad Vahidi for Ministry of Interior,

Hossein Amir Abdollahian for Ministry of Foreign Affairs,

Seyed Esmaeil Khatib for Ministry of Intelligence,

Ali Akbar Mehrabian for Ministry of Energy,

Ehsan Khandouzi for Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance,

Eisa Zarepor for Ministry of Communication & Information Technology,

Ezzatollah Zarghami for Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts,

Hojjat Abdolmaleki for Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour, and Social Welfare,

Mohammad Ali Zolfigol for Ministry of Science, Research and Technology,

Mohammad Reza Gharaei Ashtiani for Ministry of defense,

Javad Sadatinezhad for Ministry of Agriculture,

Bahram Einollahi for Ministry of Health and Medical Education,

Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili for Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance,

Seyed Reza Fatemi Amin for Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade,

Javad Oji for Ministry of Petroleum,

Amir Hossein Rahimi for Ministry of Justice,

Rostam Ghasemi for Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

In accordance with the parliament’s internal regulations, when it comes to examining the qualification of any president’s picks for ministries, President Raisi addressed the lawmakers for 2.5 hours, defending his administration’s programs and introducing his proposed ministers.

Five pros and five cons provided their viewpoints on the outlines; then, the MPs started examining the qualifications and programs of each proposed minister in alphabetical order.

Following a report by a commission relevant to each proposed minister, two pros and two cons spent 15 minutes to mention the strengths and weaknesses of the proposed ministers.

In the end, any proposed minister was provided with 30 minutes to defend his or her programs and point of view (Source: IRNA).
