Iranian Women Married to Foreign Men Can Apply for ID Card for Their Children, Foreign Ministry Announces
Iranian Foreign Ministry has issued a national announcement for registration of the births given by Iranian women married to the foreign men. Accordingly, the children from Iranian mothers will have access to ID Cards.

Tehran, SAEDNEWS, Dec. 16: The announcement states: "Dear compatriots, due to the implementation of the law on issuing birth certificates to children with Iranian mothers and foreign fathers, the executive process by registering through the integrated management system of consular services (mikhak) to the address: mikhak.mfa.ir has started."

The announcement of the public relations of Iranian Foreign Ministry added: The applicants in this system must register and then, based on the appointment, the time of the face-to-face visit to provide the required documents will be announced to them.

The announcement also emphasizes Registration for Iranians abroad, first, in four offices in Stockholm, Dubai, Warsaw, and Frankfurt will begin on a trial basis for about a month and then in all offices, it will be performed abroad and its news will be announced.

The law on determining the citizenship of children born to Iranian women married to non-Iranian men was approved by the Iranian parliament last year.

So far, 34 Iranian identity cards have been issued and delivered to children by Iranian mothers and non-Iranian fathers.

30,895 Iranian mothers over the age of 18 and 50,541 Iranian mothers under the age of 18 have registered on the website of the General Directorate of Citizens and Foreign Immigrants of the Ministry of Interior to receive their children's identity cards (Source: IranPress).
