Iran’s New Judiciary Chief Vows More Decisive Fight against Corruption
Iran’s new Judiciary Chief Gholam Hossein Mohseni Eje’i underlined implementation of the Transformation Document in the judicial system, saying that fighting corruption will be pursued more seriously under his leadership at the country's judicial system.

Tehran, SAEDNEWS: "The axis of the judiciary is the implementation of the Transformation Document and this period is the period of transformation and excellence and we should have long and leaps and bounds with the unity and integrity of all officials, cooperation of the three branches of the government, military and law enforcement forces," Mohseni Eje’i said, addressing a ceremony to introduce him as the new judiciary chief on Monday.

He appreciated the Leader for trusting and electing him as the chief of the Judiciary, expressing readiness to pursue this serious responsibility with “strength and power in order to serve the system and the people and values”.

"Promotion of justice in all areas, more decisive and non-discriminatory fight against corruption in all areas, development of technology to serve people better and cheaper and in some cases even free of charge for them, maximum use of the popular capacity for the prevention of crime, the reduction of judicial cases and violations in the judiciary branches, peace, and reconciliation, and the establishment of a mechanism for the expansion of legitimate freedoms is the most targets of the Judiciary Branch," Mohseni Eje’i said.

He referred to the expansion of legitimate freedoms, and said, "In the constitution and in the Leader's communiqué, the issue of expanding legitimate freedoms is mentioned, and this issue requires a mechanism so that we can defend legitimate freedoms more than before, because if these freedoms are expanded and as the restrictions defined by Islam, many illegal acts are prevented.”

"Reviewing ways of implementation of security, law enforcement, and intelligence officials to create security, widespread peace for all sections of society and with the aim of preventing the infiltration of enemies and ill-wishers in different layers of the system and administration and preventing spying cases and possible invasion of the privacy is another axis that will be pursued in the new era," Mohseni Eje’i said.

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in a decree on Wednesday appointed Mohseni Eje'i as Iran's new Judiciary Chief.

Mohseni Eje'i will replace Ebrahim Rayeesi who won the June 18 presidential elections and is now Iran's President-elect.

In his decree, the Leader called on Mohseni Eje'i to use new technologies in the Judiciary apparatuses, employ hard-working and trustworthy personnel, continue the serious fight against corruption, and establish direct contact with the people.

Mohseni Eje'i was the first deputy of judiciary chief during Rayeesi's leadership of the Judiciary.

Rayeesi had on Wednesday in a letter to Ayatollah Khamenei called for his permission to concentrate on formation of his new government.

In his letter, Rayeesi seized the opportunity to express his thanks for Leader’s trust, support, wise guidance during his tenure in the Judiciary as well as his special attention to the performance and activity of the Judiciary in the last two years in his recent meeting with the officials of the Judiciary Branch.

He pointed to the significance of affairs of future government and the limited time left to prepare preliminary measures for formation of the next administration, and asked the Leader to allow him to focus on preparations for the formation of a new government in the remaining time.

Rayeesi also requested Leader of the Islamic Revolution to adopt necessary decision regarding the appointment of new Judiciary Chief at his sole discretion (SOURCE: FARS NEWS).
