Tehraners Are to Be Fined If Refuse to Wear Mask: President Rouhani
President Hassan Rouhani announced that those Tehraners who refuse to wear mask will be fined.

Tehran, SAEDNEWS, Oct. 10, Speaking at a meeting of the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus on Saturday, President Hassan Rouhani stated that the only way to deal with coronavirus is to observe health protocols. “We may also be infected with the flu, but we have a vaccine and a cure for it, but in case of coronavirus, because there is neither medicine nor a vaccine, we must only observe health protocols,” the president added. President Rouhani went on to say that all people should use masks in the communities they attend. If someone does not use the mask, he/she will be fined 50,000 tomans, said Rouhani, adding that the police and Basij forces are responsible for declaring the fine to people.

Also, any person with COVID-19 does not quarantine himself/herself, he/she will be fined 200,000 Tomans, Rouhani noted.According to Iran’s president, this plan is currently related to Tehran and can then be done in other cities if needed. Hassan Rouhani stated: "We set aside $100million to buy coronavirus test kits from other countries.” The president further said that this year, there would be no walking pilgrimage to Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi, and the shrine of Imam Reza (AS) for his martyrdom anniversary, and the ceremony that will be held must be in compliance with all health protocols. Every year, many Shiite pilgrims across Iran walk towards the holy city of Mashhad, northeast of the country, to attend the mourning ceremony on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Reza (AS) (Iranpress).
