Sanctions Cannot Hamper Our Coronavirus Diffusion Plan, Iran First Vice President Jahangiri Says
US sanctions have crippled the international markets' relations with Islamic Republic of Iran. However, the creative plans of the Iranian officials are struggling to tackle the current problems particularly in the domain of provision of corona vaccine.

Tehran, SAEDNEWS, Dec. 27: “Of course, sanctions and pressures have posed obstacles [to Iran's trade] in all fields, including supplying coronavirus vaccine, but fortunately, the country’s management power can defuse the sanctions,” Jahangiri said.

He lauded the Iranian scientists for their efforts to develop an indigenous coronavirus vaccine, and said production of home-made vaccine may take a few months and therefore the government is endeavoring and using all capacities to supply it from foreign companies.

“So far, I have personally held several meetings with the foreign and health ministers and the Governor of the Central Bank and their deputies to remove any obstacles on the way of supplying the vaccine,” Jahangiri said.

Earlier today, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Washington has obstructed Iran’s efforts to purchase coronavirus vaccine, and warned officials to control borders to prevent infection of the country’s people with the mutated COVID-19 virus which has spread in the European states.

“Iran is definitely looking to make a vaccine and at the same time we are looking to buy an approved vaccine. The Americans rocked the boat, and evil and vicious activity everywhere is on the part of the Americans. We prepared the money, but the World Health Organization said that OFAC (the US Office of Foreign Assets Control) should license the trade,” President Rouhani said on Saturday, addressing a meeting of the national coronavirus campaign headquarters in Tehran (Source: Fars News).
