Some 4m more doses of COVID-19 vaccines due in Iran within 24 hours
Iran is expected to import some 4 million more doses of COVID-19 vaccines within the next 24 hours, according to Deputy Head of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Mehrdad Jamali.

Tehran, SAEDNEWS: Jamali said that three consignments of Chinese Sinopharm vaccine – a total of four million doses – will arrive in the Iranian capital within the next 24 hours.

With the arrival of the new consignments, the country’s total imports of COVID-19 vaccine will top 40 million doses.

The biggest consignment of COVID-19 vaccine – five million doses – arrived in the country yesterday.

The first cases of COVID-19 infection were found in Iran in February 2020.

Most part of the high-risk groups has been vaccinated so far and the vaccination continues with a domestically-developed vaccine – Cov-Iran Barekat – coming into the market (Source: IRNA).
